Old appliances are some of the hardest things to get rid of. They're heavy, they don't fit in your car, and the city trash truck usually won't just grab a fridge off the curb. So a lot of them end up sitting in the garage for months.
We're SoFlo Junk And Go, a local junk removal crew out of Pompano Beach, and we haul out old appliances all over Broward and south Palm Beach. Here's how it works.
Appliances we pick up
- Refrigerators and freezers, including garage and chest freezers
- Washers and dryers
- Stoves, ovens and cooktops
- Dishwashers
- Microwaves and small kitchen appliances
- Water heaters
- Grills
If it's something we haven't listed, send us a photo and ask.
Get it ready before we come
A few things make the pickup quick and keep the price where we quoted it:
- Have it unhooked. Water lines, gas lines and dryer vents should be disconnected before we arrive. If it's a gas stove or dryer, have a pro shut off and cap the gas.
- Empty the fridge or freezer. Take the food out and let it drain. Nobody wants a leak down the hallway.
- Drain the washer and leave the door open so it dries out.
- Clear the path. Move anything between the appliance and the door. Tell us about stairs, tight turns or a condo elevator.
- Let us know where it is. Kitchen, garage, laundry closet, or already at the curb. Each one is a little different.
What appliance removal costs
Junk removal is priced mostly by how much room your stuff takes in the trailer, plus weight and dump fees. Jobs start at $150. One or a few pieces usually run around $150 to $250, and you'll get an upfront price before we start. The quote is free, and there's no obligation.
If you've got other stuff to go too, like an old mattress, a couch or garage junk, it's usually cheaper to do it all in one trip than to book two pickups. For more on pricing, read How Much Does Junk Removal Cost in South Florida?
