It’s the first thing almost everyone asks us: “How much is this going to cost?” Fair question. Nobody wants to book a pickup and then get hit with a number they didn’t see coming. So here’s how junk removal pricing actually works, in plain terms, from a local crew in Pompano Beach.
The short answer
Jobs start at $150. A small pickup, like a single couch, a mattress or a few bags and boxes, usually lands somewhere around $150 to $250. A big job costs more. For reference, a full load in our 6x14 dump trailer has run about $650.
Every job is a little different, so the only real way to know your price is to show us what you’ve got. That’s why we quote from photos, for free, before anything gets loaded.
What goes into the price
There are three things that decide what you pay.
1. How much of the truck it fills
This is the big one. Junk removal is mostly priced by space. A recliner takes up a lot less room than a sectional, a dresser and a box spring. The more of the truck your stuff fills, the higher the price. When you send photos, we’re looking at how much room it’s all going to take once it’s loaded.
2. Weight
Some things take up very little space but weigh a ton. Think concrete, tile, roofing, dirt, or a pile of old books. Heavier loads cost more to haul and more to dump, so weight matters too. A trailer full of pool-deck pavers is a very different job than a trailer full of patio cushions.
3. Dump fees
When we haul your stuff away, a lot of it ends up at a disposal facility, and those facilities charge us to drop it off. Those fees are part of your price. They usually depend on weight and on the type of material. Certain items cost extra to get rid of. We wrote more about this in Dump Fees Explained.
Examples of what a job might look like
These aren’t quotes, just a feel for how size changes things:
- Small job: one or two pieces of furniture, a mattress set, or a handful of bags. This is where most people land in that $150 to $250 range.
- Medium job: a garage corner, a room of furniture, or a pile of mixed household stuff. Somewhere between a small pickup and a full load.
- Big job: a full garage, a storage unit, or a whole-house cleanout. A full 6x14 dump-trailer load has run about $650, and a whole house can take more than one load.
Your price could be higher or lower depending on what’s actually there and how heavy it is. That’s why we look first.
What doesn’t change the price
We don’t believe in surprises. A few things we want to be clear about:
- The quote is free. Send photos and we’ll text you back a number. No obligation.
- You get an upfront price before we start. If you say yes, that’s the plan.
- No surprise fees. If something changes on the day, like you want us to take extra stuff you didn’t show us, we’ll talk to you about it first.
How to get the most accurate quote
The better the photos, the better the quote. A few tips:
- Take a wide shot so we can see the whole pile, not just one item.
- Add a close-up of anything heavy or unusual.
- Tell us where it is: curbside, garage, upstairs, back bedroom.
- Mention stairs, long walks or tight hallways.
- Let us know if there’s anything you’re not sure we can take.
Then just text the photos to 954-408-4024, or use the quote form on our homepage. A real local person will get back to you.
Is it cheaper to do it yourself?
Sometimes, if you have a truck, a free weekend and a strong back. But by the time you rent a vehicle, make a few trips, pay the dump fees yourself and lose a day, the gap often gets smaller than people expect. And you’re the one carrying the fridge.
If you want to keep the cost down, there are easy ways to help. We put together a list in How to Save Money on Junk Removal.
Paying for your job
We keep it simple. We take cash, check, Zelle, Cash App or PayPal. We’re open 7 days a week, 7AM to 8PM.
The bottom line
Junk removal in South Florida is priced by how much of the truck your stuff fills, how heavy it is, and what it costs to dump. Jobs start at $150, small pickups usually run $150 to $250, and a full 6x14 trailer load has run about $650. The fastest way to know your number is to send us a few pictures.
